Chipped Tips...Who Loves That??

Don't you just hate it when as soon as you get your nails done, you turn around and they are already chipped. I know I do but you can't help it as you use your hands to do everything; wash dishes, clean the house, open doors and etc. I am praying to the nail gods that one day they will create a regular polish that will NOT chip (as I don't do gel or strip manicures). But for right now I guess a anti-chip top coat would do the trick.

Below are three anti-chip top coats that will make our manicure last longer.

Jump for Julep

Flipping through the pages of InStyle magazine and keeping up with Instagram or any social media outlet, you find out about new products or products you didn't know existed. One of my friends on Instagram posted a pic of this brand of polish called Julep so I decided to research to see what this brand is all about. And.....this brand is about inspiration and being environmentally friendly. They are willing to stand out from the rest, be innovative and trend-setting by creating a fun way for women to step out of their comfort zone. As an added plus they will donate a $1 from the sale of each polish product to an organization that empowers women and the prices range from $14-$18 depending on the polish. Another thing that is unique about this brand is that they name each color after women who inspire them. As I read more and more about this brand I know I am going to be jumping for Juelp!!!

Below are some colors which I plan on trying and will post a review.
1. Olivia
2. Lauren
3. Trina
4. Robin

Exclusive: Thakoon for NARS

I know I am late but I couldn't help but to post this as the weather is getting warmer and colors are getting brighter, Thakoon for NARS polish or should I say "Thank You for NARS" is a unique and exclusive collection which is now available online. These bold and vibrant hues are definitely the thing for spring as neon colors have been making a comeback.

Will you be buying?

Color of the Week: "Color So Hot It Berns"

Color So Hot It Berns is from the OPI Swiss Collection and is bright red like the color of the retro candy Red Hots (anyone born in the '80s knows what I am talking about). It’s slightly warm but not too orange or pinkish. This by far has been the best red I have ever chosen to wear besides OPI Big Apple Red. Will be adding this to my staple go to polish list.

Let me know what you think.

Fact Friday - Gel Manicures

Manicure mavens beware....Gel manicures are on the loose. While we all know the worst part of getting our nails done is drying them. We live in a world where everyone is always on the go, go, go and we never have time for anything so to take the time to dry our nail polish is just impossible. Now that we have gel manicures which doesn't required any drying time, we are good to go or are we.

I came across this article on Everyday Health about the dangers of gel manicures (oh lord..one more thing to worry about) and how they can cause an increase risk in skin cancer because of the UV lights which is the same light source used in tanning beds. Oh the things we do to cut down on time and the risk we put ourselves in. And to add insult to injury, these lights can also make your hands look older.

If you like gel manicures, you can use a sunscreen with SPF and cut the exposure time or as I like to do only get a gel manicure when I travel.
